RED CHAIR NUDE

Acrylic on wood panel - 5x7" - (C)BruceDocker,2009
$100.00

This painting is based on a drawing that I did in the late seventies when I first began painting. I think it works in well with what I've been painting recently.

STRANGE PEOPLE after EMIL NOLDE

Acrylic on canvas - 28x36" (C)BruceDocker2009
NFS

This is a painting I completed in 1978. At that time I painted several large paintings for a show in Topeka, KS. Unfortunately, I have no records of that show and this is the only large painting that I still have from that time. I don't recall if the others still still exist or where they are!? I do remember one was of Captain Ahab and was about 48x36".

"LITTLE JIMMY" BOUDREAUX

Mixed Media (Technical pen, colored pencil, pencil) - 6x6" - (C)BruceDocker,2008
NFS

He was playing in a bar in rural Louisiana, about 1980. It was one small room, surprisingly loud, folks were dancing and the drinks were flowing. Rockin' Zydeco accordion.

Self Portrait

First Wednesday theme this month on DailyPainters.com is a self portrait. I've not done many, but I gave it a shot anyway. NFS

BOXER

Acrylic on masonite - 27" x 19 3/4" - (C)BruceDocker,2008
$350.00

This painting relates the darkness, danger and action that surrounds and is integral to boxing in and out of the ring. It is darker than the paintings I've been doing, but the colors are still pure and bold.
This painting is definitely from the vault. I painted it in 1980

This painting is large, so I need to check shipping charges.

FIGHTING BEING DEVOURED BY THE SHIFTING POWER GRID

Acrylic on maple plywood - 7" x 5" - (C)BruceDocker,2008
SOLD
Well, this is the last of the hoodie painting series, or cringing figure as he was cleverly called this morning. I had a lot of fun with this series, pulling in some techniques, color combinations and themes I haven't used in a while. And had never used with paintings of people. I think it's about time to go back to some landscapes for a while. Now that everything is turning green again and hiding the ravages of the winter ice storms, it's seeming more appealing.
